Ice Skating!

England

Today, I do believe, was a fine day. The internship part wasn’t so great, because I’ve run out of plays to cover (Christmas season is bad for theatre). When I got home, I took my coupons to Subway and got a 6′ sub for free! Then I went ice skating with Ciara and Priam at the National History museum, and it was FANTASTIC. I’d forgotten how much I love skating, even though I’m still amateur. Most pictures are of us, because really, how many interesting angles are there of a rink?

100th blogpost!

More shopping was done today. Maybe I’m not as broke as I convince myself that I am. It poured rain all day and I had to duck in and out of shops on Oxford Street to escape it, but my raincoat and rain boots did the trick. I HATE when my socks get wet from soggy shoes. Back home, I ate lots before eventually banishing myself to my bunk, where I wrote some of my art paper, talked to Mark, and lazed about.

Oh! And in celebration of my 100th blog post in London, here’s a little song about the life I left behind.

Love her.

Shopping weekend

Fashion

Crap, I forgot to post yesterday. Not like anything of note happened, other than spending hours at the library and then watching Gosford Park before bed. Thrilling, I know.

Today I went shopping, and it was not as epic as I thought it would be. BOTH District and Circle lines were closed so I had to improvise with the bus routes, and it was a pain. But I did finally buy the Jack Wills dress I have been wanting for ages, as well as a few necessary items from TopShop. Now, what I really need are boots and a nice coat. Here’s to throwing things out so I can board my plane home! I ended up taking a two-hour nap when I got back (bad idea) and now have a dull headache and not even Thanksgiving leftovers or HIMYM clips have helped it. I’ve been searching for movie rentals on iTunes for ages and can’t find anything interesting. Tomorrow: possible trip to Westminster Abbey for the 11am morning service, writing my AH paper, and possibly more shopping?

Thanksgiving!

Food, London

Our big family (of 15!) cooked the most adorable Thanksgiving any American spending the holiday in Britain could hope for ❤ We all set up in one kitchen and had turkey, two kinds of stuffing, green beans, sweet potatoes and mashed, two kinds of salad, gravy, cranberry sauce, various red and white wines, asparagus, baguettes, garlic bread, centerpieces, and flatmate love! For dessert, there were mud pies, apple pie, pumpkin pie, vanilla ice cream, and mulled wine ❤ So sad to have missed out on the Connecticut festivities and Mommy’s stuffing and gravy, but I think we did a very good job for ourselves.
