Melissa and Alison and I went to Portobello Market and the Christmas Market in Hyde Park today, despite the rain. Both were full of people and weeping children and general chaos. We also needed to do some ticket picking-up for the girls, but by the time it turned 3:30 I was feeling so crappy and tired I had to go home 😦 And slept until 8. It is not fun wasting a weekend night in the room, but I really haven’t been feeling well the past few days. Tired all the time, hazy vision, delayed brain registration. I just want to sleep through the rest of November. Good news: I have a nice package that needs opening! More tomorrow.

Markets galore
London, MarketsToday it poured rain during my art class, where we wandered to Regent’s Park and Camden Town. Finishing an hour early let Ciara and I browse the glorious stalls at Camden Market–always pretty clothes, but never anything worth purchasing. Then a group of us (Melissa, Megan, Keely, Michelle, and I) walked through Borough Market near the London Bridge. So much delicious, fresh food. So tempting! But I saved money instead. Then Melissa and I plowed on to the Southbank for the opening day of the Cologne Christmas Market. So many lights and ornaments and cinnamon smells made the night shimmer. We ooh’d and ahh’d and got free Glühwein (German mulled wine) which fogged my glasses and warmed my insides. Then we headed back to conduct a massive clean-up of our room. I contemplated Christmas gifts. I ate bananas. I sorted my papers. Through the massive migraine and foggy headcold, I managed to turn a potentially blah day into a busy and productive one. London, I do love your festivities and your diversity. I only wish I could experience your Christmas.
Thursday
Art, Work AbroadI love how I get sick of writing after being so tired after work, but still post crappy entries every day, as if they mean something to you. Today (?) I went to the V&A to help Kate with her interview with Japanese architect and architecture historian Terunobu Fujimori! This was inpreparation for a new exhibit going up in June 2010 called ‘1:1 Architects Build Small Spaces.’ (more later) Karaoke tonight with the girls. Tomorrow, class.
UPDATE: Scotland pictures are up! FINALLY. It took me forever to choose what to post–I took over 500 pictures. Don’t worry. They are AWESOME.
Also, two of my stories have been published in the London Student Newsletter. Slang&Scotland. Check them out!
Seriously
UncategorizedSadly, I chose not to go see Oliver!. Instead, I have cooped myself up to write this ridiculous paper. Proper updates will be done after I hand it in tomorrow. Promise.
Tuesday
Work AbroadAnd where is my time going? There is not enough time in my LIFE to do what I need to do. Article for the Student Newsletter is submitted, only now I realize that you might be seeing double if you read this blog as well. I seriously have no time to think of two different ways of recounting a vacation! Give me a break! Now, on to my 2000 word essay. Research done? Not a chance. Enough to snack on while procrastinating? You betcha. Work at Cultureshock today was normal as always. The internet went down again so I left a half hour early. I have been trying to figure this weekend out but cannot CHOOSE between the two. I need advice 😦
In good/bad news, I am going to the ticket office with Melissa and Megan to get tickets to see Oliver! tomorrow night. Yes, the night before handing in this monster assignment. Call me crazy? Well, after all, I did get married this weekend.
Monday
UncategorizedMonday post? I’m too busy editing photos and listening to the new Relient K album ❤

ScotlandI really can’t believe I have internet access right now. The day has been kind of a whirlwind of TRAVEL and STUFF. The two big words in my vocabulary. I took a 12.5 hour bus ride through the night to Edinburgh, where I sprinted to my tour group only to arrive early enough to grab a hot chocolate and spruce up. WHOO. Then I met this girl named Alex and we hung out seeing castles and glens and OH MY GOD. Scotland has the most gorgeous landscape I have ever seen. The Highlands? God yes.
